![]() Groundwater modelling
In the WRM Water Resources Model,
a simple aquifer representation can be coupled to any NODE or REACH.
The 2D (vertically integrated) aquifers are represented by one or more cells, coupled by Darcy flow.
NODES can discharge (springs) or actively extract water (wells) from the aquifers,
percolation and losses from various NODE types as well as a the catchment rainfall-runoff model RRM,
recharge noeds, and precipitation over basin areas not otherwise couvered, feed into the aquifers.
REACHES are coupled to the aquifers bi-directionally.
WRM maintains a complete but simplified water budget for the quifers, including losses to deep percolation.
A separate optional 2D FE groundwater flow and transport model
or the 3D MODFLOW code can also be integrated with WaterWare/WRM.
