Contribution to the Project

In addition to its role as project manager and coordinator, ESS will act as one of the main developers and systems integrator on the basis of the AirWare urban and industrial air quality assessment and management system (http://www.ess.co.at/AIRWARE/).

This includes the basic client-server framework, integration of the real-time modelling components and data assimilation through http/cgi (regular autonomous and event-based model runs) controlled by a real-time expert system, automatic report generation, embedded GIS and DSS components, monitoring time series analysis, and web based (PHP/Javascript) visualisation tools.

ESS will contribute its experience from the precursor project E! 1388 AIDAIR, as well as a number of EU sponsored RTD projects under Framework 4 and 5.

For the demonstration cases, ESS will act as the initial Application Service Provider (ASP) supplying a high-performance computing and networking environment (2Mb leased network connection, 8 processor HPCN cluster, tape robot backup systems).
