E!3266 WEBAIR: The project consortium
BioTel Ltd., SOUTH KOREA
Contribution to the ProjectBioTel's contribution will mainly consist in supporting and directing case study applications in Korea starting with GyeongGee Province (which includes the Seoul metropolitan area and Megacity) and Hwasung City, but eventually extending to the national scale with nested sub domains for major city and industrial areas. The main focus of your work will be on advanced photochemical and aerosol (ozone) modeling and monitoring, and the testing, validation and contributions to the further development of ozone models to adapt them to the local conditions in Korea, e.g., with regards to VOC speciation, emission inventories etc. This will be primarily based on the current ozone models in WEBAIR, in particular the dynamic 3D model CAMx and the photochemical box model PBM. Related possible topics include ozone monitoring, the relationships between CO, NOx, O2, and O3 in urban hotspots directly affected by traffic (e.g., street canyons) , and the relationship between ambient and indoor air quality.
