City of Sisak, Croatia

The industrial city of Sisak is located in central Croatia. With a population of about 60,000 it is the administrative centre of Sisak-Moslavina county.

Centered around 45°29' N 16°22' E and at an elevation of 100 masl, the city covers approximately 423 km².

Sisak is located approximately 60 km southeast of Zagreb on the main road Zagreb-Sisak-Petrinja (M12.2) and the railroad Zagreb-Sisak-Sunja.

At the confluence of the Kupa, Sava, and Odra rivers, the city is Croatia's biggest river port and a centre of river shipping industry (Dunavski Lloyd). Sisak also hosts the largest Croatian iron and steel works and the largest oil refinery in the country.
