SUCEAVA MUNICIPALITY

Suceava City lies in the NE part of Romania , 450 km from Bucharest ,being the capital of Suceava County since 1388. The municipality of Suceava , with a surface of 52,1 km2 , lies on the E 85 European road ,on the Suceava riverside , in a highland area situated at a medium altitude of 400 m from the Black Sea level. The town has 118500 inhabitants at present, out of which 50000 represent the active population.

Suceava Municipality is an governmental institution which represent the local authority for Suceava City , which is the most important city and the capital of Suceava County. Suceava Municipality's leader is the Mayor of Suceava City. Also there are two vice mayors and a juridical councilor in the leader staff, all this are elected by the people of Suceava City. The leading staffs is working every day only into the Municipality. There are 182 employers in the institution. The founds from the municipality budget comes from local taxes, income taxes and a small part comes from the county budget. The municipality is responsible for local community safety and health, for schools, hospitals, heating, waste handling, roads construction, flats building, local transport and others. All the expensive that concern this activity are cover from the municipality budget. The municipalities owns the local transport company, which provide the public transport in the city.

LOCAL COUNCIL OF SUCEAVA CITY

The Suceava Local Council is the legal authority in Suceava City. The Council is done by 25 local councilors elected by the people of Suceava City .All this are members of the political parties and they are not working in the Suceava Municipality . There are meeting of the Local Council once of month and in this meeting the councilors vote decisions which concern the community life and this decisions are local low. This decisions must be respected and put into practice by the municipality employers. The founds for the Local Council comes from the SUCEAVA MUNICIPALITY.
