TURKEY: Coastal zone development, Cesme
Like many comparable areas, Cesme shows a combination of declining rural infrastructure
in its hinterland, and atthe same time a rapid growth of touristic developments, both
in large scale resorts and a considerable number of smaller, private second home and condominiums.
Not all the developments are optimal, as many only partially completed construction sites,
incomplete landscaping, and unmanaged waste dumps as well as a number of outfalls into
the coastal littoral document.
