Knowledge Base Formats

The Knowledge Base files in RiskWare are located, by default, in the directory ${DATAPATH}/KB.

The KB directory contains the individual Knowledge Base files, including the file KBconfig, which enumerates the files to be loaded and defines the loading sequence. Please note The entries in KBconfig can also refer to files in any other system directory accessible to the application.

An example of KBconfig may look like:

Please note that there may be several instances of each file group, their loading sequence defined by the sequence in which they are listed in the KBconfig file.

The file types:

Descriptors (shared between the forward and backward chaining systems)
ACTIONS (only used by thye forward chaining system)
RTrules (only used by the forward chaining system)
Rules (only used by the backwards chaining system)
Tables (a special notation for Rules with two AND connected antecedent conditions)

are all defined in plain ASCII files that can easily be edited.
