RiverBasinObject: Pumps

In WRM, they are implicit/embedded elements of

• START NODES of type wells and well fields,
• RIVER REACHES/SEGMENTS: associated (again implicitly beyond the explicit treatment of their costs) in pipelines and pumped flow (supporting negative gradients);
• DIVERSION NODES: pumped abstractions

Their primary characteristics include:

• Type and make, technical specifications;
• The source (surface or groundwater with the respective links);
• Capacity and lift;
• Operating costs;
• Administrative data, operator, owner, etc.

They are primarily described by their HEADER and the hypertext description and imagery.

Attributes are grouped into topics and shown in pop-up windows that are triggered by BUTTONS.
They include:

1. Admin administrative data on owner and operator;
2. Technical data: type and make, specifications: power, capacity, lift;
3. Economics investment and operating costs, energy use.
4. Links to other objects, should include a reservoir, river reach or an aquifer or well object.
