RiverBasinObject: Nature reserves

Nature objects describe places of specific environmental and ecological but also often ecological interest such as parks, nature reserves, or protected area in general.

They are primarily described by their HEADER and in particular the hypertext description and imagery.

Other attributes are grouped into topics and shown in pop-up windows that are triggered by BUTTONS. They include:

GIS optional link to a detailed local mapset with landcover information;
Admin administration, regulatory framework.
Ecologydescribes the basic ecological function including the main species, and in particular any endangered species;
Links to other related or nearby objects

Please Note: a Nature object is somewhere between a scenic site and possibly wetlands. However, environmental aspects such as specific landscape, endangered flora and fauna dominate, hydrological aspects may be negligible, and the area is subject to regulation and usually some form of administration and control.
