DUST modeling, calibration/validation examples
This includes a collection of screendumps (thumbnails leading to the full-resolution dumps)
from a range of "DUST events" characterized by a steep increase (and subsequent decrease)
of observed concentrations within a period of one week.
PM10 monitoring values are taken from the DLI monitoring stations with
hourly automatic or daily (gravimetric) data. The 11 weekly data sets and simulation results
are taken from the period 2011 to 2008. Please note that the monitoring data 2008-2009 are hourly,
the data sets from 2011 includes daily data !
Each of the images below serves as a link to the full sized screen dump or an mpg animation file.
The scenarios were run with standard sets of initial model parameters in an ongoing calibration exercise
aiming at a refined version of the basic wind erosion model (and its input data sets)
by analyzing basic model performance, error statistics, and residual patterns.
