Principal functions and activities: The laboratory carries out safety and risk analyses in process safety, as well as consequence assessments of chemical releases. In machine automation, the development of new sensor technology for safety purposes and safety of robots and flexible manufacturing systems are the main topics. Development of acoustic models, and reduction of industrial pollution through local exhaust and new filter technology are also important activities. The laboratory has considerable experience in the field of testing and inspecting working machines. Major publications: A variety of publications in the field of safety and risk analysis; machine automation, noise abatement, industrial ventilation, of accident research, ergonomics and product safety, and working machines and material handling. |
