WQRRS - Water Quality for River-Reservoir Systems

DESCRIPTION

The Water Quality for River-Reservoir System (WQRRS) is a comprehensive package that allows the simulation of the water quality in a reservoir, of the hydralics of a river, and of the water quality of the river itself. The three components of the system may also be used independently. The reservoir module assumes a one-dimensional system and thus may be used in deep reservoir with long residence times. It takes into account the effects of mass transport due to outflow in the various layers and may model tenth of different quality parameters. The stream hydraulic module routes down the flow using several different methods (St. Venant equations, Kinematic Wave, Muskingum, Modified Puls) and is able to model both steady and unsteady flow regimes. The river quality module assumes, on the contrary steady flow conditions, and models aerobic degradation as well as simple diffusion of non reactive pollutants.
