FlowPath: Groundwater Flow and Pathlines Simulation Model

DESCRIPTION

FLOWPATH is a two-dimensional aquifer simulation tool. It calculates steady-state hydraulic heads and drawdown distributions, groundwater velocities, travel times, capture zones, wellhead protection areas, and water balances. It uses a grid of up to 10,000 nodes with over 250 wells. It uses a finite difference computational scheme assuming a horizontal confined or unconfined aquifer with the possibility of surface water bodies.

Keywords

description: groundwater flow, path lines, travel times, finite difference
purpose: simulation
application: two-dimensional aquifers, confined aquifers, unconfined aquifers, non homogeneous aquifers.
