EARSS: River Runoff Data

Water Resources are an important element in EARSS . Among its data, it contains runoff data for major river basins, derived from the Global Runoff Data Centre GRDC in Koblenz, Germany.

The GRDC data bank currently consists of flows for 2,930 stations from 131 countries. Daily flows are available for 1,478 stations, monthly flows are available for 1,266 stations. We selected the 114 largest monthly flows based on data from 1930 to date.

The core of the GRDC's data bank is collected by the Hydrology and Water Resources Department of the World Meteorological Organization . The WMO/ICSU Global Atmospheric Research Programme represented the first opportunity to collect flow data on a global scale.
